Lynne, sounds like a fun group to work with and something the boys will enjoy doing. Is the club already established? My fourth graders loved making podcasts for our blog last year. Good luck with it!

Lynne, I think this sounds like a great way to engage boys! I have a 5th grade son and think this would be a good hook for his age group. Best of luck! Beth

Have you thought about what policies you may need for your blog, regarding content? I ask because you specifically mention inappropriate comments. You may want to consider having a policy to fall back on for removing or editing comments.

Is there a way that this blog and the work of the boys could be recognized school wide? I think this would be a great "look what our great students" did example for other teachers and for the parents as well.
