Angela Boccuzzi-Reichert
(work in progress)
Hi, my name is Angela Boccuzzi-Reichert. I liked to be called either Angela or Ang, please don't call me Angie.
My teaching career began in Stamford, Connecticut where I grew up and went to school. I found my way to the Rochester area in 1992 (long story) and have been working happily in the Hilton Central School District ever since. I have worked in the high school and middle school as a special education teacher and in 2001 I became the librarian at Merton Williams Middle School. In 2004 we opened the new Dr. Lorraine Sherwood Library, named after my predecessor and most importantly my mentor, it is a beautiful space and our students are very fortunate. Being the librarian is the best job in the school, I am surrounded by students, books and technology all day. Now if I could only have a cat....
My husband Jim and I met at Merton Williams Middle School (he makes a mean pot of coffee) even though we grew up forty minutes apart from each other down state! We will be celebrating our first "real" anniversary on February 29, 2008.
The last year has proved to be interesting, my husband was deployed in Iraq for the year, let me tell you being a military wife for the first time was an eye opening and nerve rattling experience. Thankfully, Jim is home safe and sound. While he was away, the birth of our daughter Joan and my then 2 year old son James kept me focused, busy and laughing.
We are planning to build my big girl house in the next few years, we have the land and the plan. What do I mean by a big girl house? It is a house in which you can blow dry your hair and make a pot of coffee without flipping a circuit. If it was up to Jim we would be building now. Me being practical I want to wait until he is closer to military retirement so I don't end up building the house while he is deployed again. I know what you are probably thinking, but you gave birth while he was away building a house would be nothing! I beg to differ, once you are pregnant there is no choice involved except epidural or no epidural, bottle or breast. Now a house, well there are colors, flooring, cabinets, counters, electric sockets, type of windows, heating and the list goes on...
